Mangalore: There is some disappointing news for Vittal Malekudiya, a post graduate student of Mangalore University who has been arrested on charges of Naxal links. The Mangalore University has denied him permission to write his second semester examination scheduled to begin on May 21 on the grounds of lack of 75 per cent attendance.
According to Vice Chancellor TC Shivashankermurthi, a letter has been sent to the Belthangady court in this regard. He said the university will take any further decision as per the court’s directive. It may be recalled here that Vittal was earlier permitted to appear for his internal exams in April by the University after a court directive to that effect.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Hegde Ulepady, advocate for Vittal has said the University decision would be challenged in the High Court.
