New Delhi: As a conciliatory step between UPA Govt. and its critics, BJP(Himachal)MP varun Gandhi(son of Menaka) who has offered his Mayur Vihar residence last Saturday to Annasaheb Hazare in the capital city on Tuesday(Aug 16) was moved to say that he plans to introduce Hazare’s Jan Lokpal Bill as a private member’s bill in Parliament.
Varun, the Philibit MP(after his mother gave the constituency to him) told his admirers and media that he would do so this week by Friday.
Varun said he was ashamed of the fact that Hazare was put behind bars, like a caged bird. But like crores of Indians, he woke up on Aug 15 to a depressed freedom day to celebrate.
He praised Hazare for putting the younger generations and their future on a strong pedestal, and said it was very heartening. He asked politicians to do what people wanted then to do. They cannot reject the mood of the country which is now an economic power in spite of several cases of large corruption staring at them.
He said he did not want any artificial lines between polity an civil society.
His private bill will be tabled on Friday next (Aug 19th) to reflect public opinion Varun Gandhi added.
