Bantwal :  Vasanthi Chandappa, a Congress supported member and Yasmin  have been elected unopposed as the President and Vice President  of Bantwal TMC.

The President’s post was reserved for a SC woman candidate and Vasanthi was the only SC member becoming the first Dalit woman president of Bantwal TMC. Though the vice president’s post reserved for general category women saw four aspirants, the party chose Yasmin. SDPI backed candidate Mumtaz though had filed nomination, she withdrew the same later on.

Tahsildar Malleswami was the election officer. B Ramantha Rai, District in-charge Minister was present and congratulated the newly elected President and Vice President.
