Mangaluru : Eminent scholar T.V. Venkatachala Shastri has been chosen to chair the Alva’s Nudi Siri 2015, a literary festival being conducted by Moodbidri Alva’s Education Foundation since 12 years.
Nudisiri 2015 would be on for four days, from November 26 to November 29 at Sundari Alva campus in Moodbidri.
Mr. Shastri, a native of Kanakapura in Ramanagara district, had worked in the Kannada department of Mysore University for four decades in different capacities, including as the Dean.
He has been a senior scholar of the century with mastery over Halegannada, grammar, chandassu, dictionary, etc.
The inauguration will be held on a specially designed stage and auditorium for the event at 6 p.m. on November 26, wherein over 20,000 people can witness the proceedings. A variety of sessions, special lectures, and others will be held on the following three days under the concept “Karnataka: Hosatanada Hudukata.”
At the same time, Veena Shantheshwara, who worked as professor of English in Karnataka College of Arts, Dharwad for 39 years and as the principal of the same college for nine years, would inaugurate the Nudisiri.
Foundation Chairman Mohan Alva urged all literature lovers to attend the event.
