Moodbidri : Veteran Yakshagana artiste Monappa Kulal Malali (81) passed away at Kulai on July 7, Sunday.

Kulal was famous  as  Shree Vesha Dhari and Pundu Vesha Artiste and had been part of Suratkal, Koodlu, Kundavu, Muchur and Mulki Melas. He was also the founder of Ramanjaneya Yakshagana Sangha, Malali.  He used to take part in Mosaru Kudike Utsav of the Moodbidri Sri Gopalkrishna Temple every year and used to break pots as Krishna Veshadhari. He  is survived by two sons.
