Mangalore: Active members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal teamed up to meet the city police commissioner on Aug.9 and gave a memo to the officer, demanding effective measures to keep the drug mafia on the coastal region under check, and eradicate it finally.
The two militant Hindu organizations told the police chief that DK district was infested with drug menace and the mafia (group selling drugs) had a strong foothold among college-going students, male or female-here. Unless these evil forces are held in check by regulations, citizens are bound to get miserable day by day.
The VHP and Bajrangis cited the case of ex-Mayor’s son Arif and his girl friends in St.Aloysius’ College PUC block, and a drug-addicted girl lying in hospital for treatment. Their company unholy was and bad. The drug mafia that brought them to such miserable depths in a young age, should be exterminated, the memorandum insisted. The CPC assured the activists of legal action against the Drug mafia.
