Mangalore : A press conference was called at Sangha Niketan on Saturday Nov 16, 2013 by VHP and Barangadal factions of RSS to oppose the contents of a bill that discussed the superstitions prevailing in Hindu communities in modern times.
The speakers on the occasion M.B Puranik Regional executive president of VHP in State said that the Hindu majority community has been singled out by the state congress government in the proposed bill for condemnation while ignoring all other religious groups such as Muslims and Christians who might have similar superstitions in their own religious beliefs. The congress government is hateful of all Hindu’s to separate them from the minorities in matters of religion and conduct.
Puranik took an exception in a forceful manner to the contents of the bill to be presented to the legislature for further discussion and a final acceptance by a road-roller majority in the hands of the chief minister.
He added that each religion had a separate setup rules and regulation acting as traditions in their faith and conduct, but the constitution had guaranteed the right of faith and belief to every community in India.
The state government had no right to proceed against any one community, leave alone the Hindu (85%) community. There for Puranik lashed out at the congress intention to defame the largest community in India by bringing the anti superstitions bill without public discussion in the open, but straight in to the legislature.
Sharan Pumpwell Bajrangdal, Anatha Krishna Bhat VHP, Krishna Moorty Bajrangadal, Vaman Shenoy RSS, Kateel Dinesh Pai Goraksha Samithi among others were present in the press conference.
