Mangalore : VHP and Bhajarangdal activists staged two hour long peaceful protest at the Gandhi Park near Town Hall on August 26, Monday, against the arrest of VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Praveen Bhai Togadia in Ayodhya.
Speaking on the occasion, M B Puranik, president of VHP said that devotional trip like ‘Parikrama Yatre’ to Ayodhya has been carried out every year by Bhajarangdal and VHP members and other devotees under the leadership of religious leaders and swamiji’s, with the aim to construct the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
He also said that though the Allahabad High Court had given a verdict agreeing for the existence of Ram Mandir and permitted to construct a Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the UP and the Central Government has been delaying the proposal given for the construction of the Mandir to favour he minority community.
He also condemned arrest of leaders like Ashok Singhal and Praveen Togadia with religious leaders.
Leaders like Jithendra Kottary, Punith, Manohar Thulajaram, Gopal Kuthar, Jagadeesh Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell, Krishna Murthy, and Pradeep Pumpwell and others were present.
