Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal leaders have said that they won’t allow the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to participate in a communal harmony rally scheduled to be held in Mangaluru city on February 25.
Speaking to the reporters here at press club in the city on Monday, VHP Divisional Working President M B Puranik has urged the district administration not to allow the Kerala chief minister to enter into Dakshina Kannada on February 25, alleging that Vijayan failed to maintain law and order in his own state. He added that, Pinarayi Vijayan’s Dharmadom constituency has witnessed around 13 political murders since 1969 to present.
Puranik also noted that the VHP and Bajrang Dal have called for a peaceful hartal on February 25 to opposing Vijayan’s entry into the city.He claimed that some of the organisations have also supporting VHP and Bajrang Dal for the stand taken by them. Both organisations have submitted memorandum to the DC and spoken to the police commissioner on their stand taken on the Kerala chief minister’s visit to the city on February 25.
