Mangaluru : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrangdal staged a protest near the Kadri Mallikatte Dwara on September 16, Thursday condemning the moves of the state government to vacate all unauthorised religious structures and also the act of forcible demolition of the ancient Adishakti Mahadevamma Bhairaveshwara Temple in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district.
Speaking to the protestors, Vishwa Hindu Parishad regional secretary M B Puranik said, The government should resolve the mistake that has been committed and see that it will not be repeated hereafter. They should take the necessary steps to reconstruct the temple demolished in Mysuru, he added.
VHP leader Murli Krishna said, The courts have also given an order for the removal of loudspeakers at mosques which is used for azaan. We challenge these officials. If they have courage, let them remove these loudspeakers.
We warn the officials who demolished the temples overnight over the court order. BJP MLAs said that they will protect Hindu religion and we have voted them. MLAs should make illegal temples in the district legal, he said.
