Manipal : The Vishwa Hindu Parishat and the Bhajrangdal  staged a protest at Manipal on June 26, Wednesday, condemning the gang rape of a medical student.  They also took out a protest march from Syndicate Circle to Tiger Circle where a protest meet was held.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharan Pumpwell, Bhajrangdal leader demanded an end to drug menace and immoral activities in Manipal. He also urged the police to put an end to late night parties in the town.

He also demanded the resignation of the home minister in the backdrop of the Manipal student gang rape case.

Several Hindu leaders including Manjunath Mandya, VHP District President Suprasad Shety, Akshaya Gokhale, Sunil KR participated in the protest.
