Mangaluru: Win over Pakistan in 1971 war was marked at Kadri War memoial on Friday.
On December 16, 1971 Pakistan Lieutenant General M A K Niyaz surrendered to Indian Army General J S Arora with his 93,000 Pak soldiers.
1,426 soldiers of Indian soldiers had sacrificed their lives in the war and 3611 soldiers were wounded. While Pak had lost lives of 8000 soldiers and 10,000 soldiers were injured in the war. To commemorate the victory over Pakistan, floral tribute was paid to war memorial at Kadri.
Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar, retired military officials Vikram Datta, N S Bhandary, Balakrishna S N and others were present.
