Mangalore, Jul 27: The Air India Express and Ministry of Civil Aviation have installed six black granite plaques in memory of 158 victims of Mangalore Air Crash at the crash site in Kenjar near Bajpe on July 27, Tuesday.
The passenger’s names and name of crew have been engraved separately on the plaques focusing both cabin crew and passengers.
Madhanv Nambiar, secretary for Civil Aviation unveiled the plaques.
Aravind Jadhav, chief managing director of Air India said that construction of plaques engraved with the names of the victims was only the final tribute they could give to the departed souls. These plaques will remain as the history and the tragedy will be remembered always.
M R Vasudev, Airport director, Chellam Prasad Air India station manager, other staffs of Air India as and the families of the crash victims also paid floral tributes at the memorial.
