Mangalore : State president of the Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagruta Vedike K S Shivaramu said that government has approved to continue the superstitious practice by renaming Made Snana as Ede Snana and also sanction the certificate.

He was speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Dec 15, Saturda. He said that the government is in the hands of high caste priests and Vishweshatheerta Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt is said to be coined the term of Ede Snana and revealed his real face.

After renaming the practice, their societal value in not increase. The temple authority may gain victory in the High Court to continue the practice, but victory will be in the side of Vedike in the Supreme Court or even higher to it.

He said that if Government would oppose the made snana ritual, then the vedike would not go to court. Made snana is a symbol of slavery.  This is the temporary victory and we will fight till stop the ritual.

Today people are focusing the issue of Made Snana on Subramanya Temple, but there are temples in many districts, where they still continues the practice of Pankthibedha- serving food to people belonging to upper caste separately and Made Snana.

He also said that on Dec 21, a jatha against the practice of Pankthibedha will start from Subrahmanya and convention will be held at Udupi on Dec 27 and we support it, he added.
