Subrahamanya: UB Group Chairman Vijay Mallya donated gold plated door worth Rs 80 lakhs to the Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple on August 23, Thursday. Mallya who had visited the Temple in April this year had vowed to make the offering and kept his promise despite his tight financial position.

The gold doors weighed 2.5 kg. Noted sculptor Sudhakar Dongre and his team had put in two months of work to complete the doors.

However, the golden throne offering event was restricted only to the temple authorities and the people who had come along with Mallya. Visitors and her devotees were not allowed.
