Mangalore : The Vijaya Bank organized a programme to distribute the joint liable loan to the Fisherwomen at Woodlands on September 3, Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, KFDC Chairman Ramachandra Baikampady said that Fisherwomen are very prominent in repaying the loans taken for various purposes.
He also said that today State government is giving 9 crore subsidy to the fisherwomen with 3 percent interest. The bank has given the amount of Rs 8.2 crore as the loan to fisherwomen in this year.
Later HS Upendra Kamath, chairman of Vijaya Bank and Sudhakar Shetty were felicitated on the occasion after distributing the loan cheques to many Self Help Fisherwomen Group.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Goldfinch later, Upendra Kamath said that the Bank has the retail portfolio of Rs 10,100 crore. It has the total infrastructure of Rs 9470 crore.
Speaking on the quality of portfolio, he said that the bank has been identified by the computer system. Our goal for the year 2011-12 is reach to 1,00,053 crore profit by March 2011.
As a part of founders day to be held on October 23, the bank will establish 100 new branches and 250 ATM centre’s. The bank also planned to set up 12-15 ‘Gen Next’ branches to attract huge number of youths.
He also said that the Bank for the first time will set up marketing team to bring business to retail process. On October 1, 2011 it will launch the saving Utsav for 6 months periods. It will also open 8 Urban Micro Finance branches to take care of poverty in the country, he added.
