Kollur: From down to dusk, children’s first educational programme of writing alphabets was conducted at the Saraswathi mantap in Kollur Mookambika Temple courtyard, on Thursday, October.6.
Over 3000 children arriving in Kollur from all South Indian states were given the first lesson by 40 priests at the holy shrine of Goddess Mookambika.
The ‘Om’ letters were written in rice by little kids and later a golden coin was used to write the sacred opening Mantra (AUM) on the Tongues of every child.
The police had made adequate arrangements for all incoming devotees from Kollur bus station to the historic temple connected with Adi Shankaracharya 12 centuries ago.
The religious rituals of Vijaya Dashami and Sri Sharada Puja were connected at the Temple by hereditary chief priest Manjunath Adiga.
