Mangalore:  Vijaynath Vittal Shetty,  Managing Director of Vijaynath Interiors &Exteriors Pvt Ltd and Chief Co-ordinator of Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple has been unanimously elected as the Founder President of the newly formed Bajpe Valaya Buntara Sangha.

The Sangha which will have nearly 20 villages in and around Bajpe as its area of operation. Shetty was elected at a meeting of Bunt leaders held at the Bajpe Bunts Popular School Auditorium on September 30, Sunday.

Ajith Kumar Malady, President of Federation Bunts Sanghas, who participated in the meet, said the new Sangha would strive towards bringing the economically, socially and educationally backward people in the community to the mainstream. Rajesh Naik Ullepadyguthu presided over the function. Zilla Panchayat Member Rithesh Shetty, Bunts Popular School Founder President Malavoor Jagadish Shetty, Shankar Shetty, Babu Shetty were present on the occasion.

Vijayanath Shetty who was instrumental in the development of the Bhoothanatheshwara Temple has also been an active social worker. He has also been patronizing rural sports through Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedotsava wherein village games, halli cricket and halli kabaddi tourneys have been organized. He has also hosted activities like Summer Camp for Village Children, Free Eye Camp etc
