Moodabidri: A Chennai group, Shiva Fusion, created a thunder of music, raising public excitement and generous applause, when a programme of fusion music (West and East) was presented on Day 2 at Alva’s Virasat.
The fusion had started with sitar maestro Ravishankar and Ali Akbar Khan on Sarod with Western musicians, decades ago blending Indian ragas and Western instruments.
The audience on Friday was spell-bund throughout the show, marveling at the deftness of the artists in handling their instruments of music to height of excellence.
Vocal music was rendered by Kartik, a playback singer white Rafiq Khan of Mangalore played on Sitar, Ravichandra Kuloor performed on fluent, cine music director Benet on guitar, Ankush Nayak on ‘saath’ in Sitar, William on keyboard, Tanja on Talavadya and Chandru Dorairaj on Tabla complementing each other in company.
Kudroli Ganesh entertained audiences by ‘Vishmaya Jadoo’. Alva’s trained students performed wonderful dances. There was Malayisan ‘Spell Bound’ team doing Odissi dances too, creating a heaven on earth.
