Mangalore : The Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship fund has targeted to give training for 5,000 youths under the programme Kshamatha’, employable skills programme for Konkani youth in the year 2010-2013, said TV Mohandas Pai, chairman, Manipal Universal learning.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl on August 26, Friday, he said that this scheme is to enhance the employment potential of the community’s youth. Through this programme, the Kendra imparts trainings for the students who on the verge of graduation to equip them with modern Human Resources Training such as communication, leadership and soft skills to enhance their employability in the globalised corporate environment.
He also said that, there is also mentorship programme for students who received the scholarship, which is a vital activity lacking in today’s social environment. Hence Vishwa Konkani Kendra has conceived an outreach rogramme to deveop the innate potential of konkani youth through relationship based approach.
This will be based on the need of the beneficiaries, professional from the community will be invitedto establish relationship with them as Mentors and provide counseling for education, personal and career related issues, till they finish their graduation.
Earlier they had also give the three day intendive training programme and have got a good result at the scholarship programme. They will be also trained for personality development. The Kshamatha is not one time programme but it is continues process.
