Mangalore : Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade inaugurated the office of ‘Vishwa Tuluvere Parba’ at Mangalore Taluk Mahila Mandala Okkoota building in Urva Store on August 31, Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that these days economic development just lies in the city. Hence the political representatives must focus upon the overall development of the district, including rural areas. The people of the district must work to develop roads, basic amenities, health centres, veterinary hospitals and school facilities in villages too and ‘Vishwa Tuluvere Parba’ will take its primary steps in this matter.
He also said that, the people of Tulunadu have made the name of their region in the world map through their achievement in various fields. Dakshina Kannada which is known as the educational hub is catering the need of students not only from the region but also from outer states. Tulunadu have been identifies in various sector like trade, commerce and industries.
He also urged the people of Tulunadu to have a responsibility to uphold the culture of the region. The Parba will attract huge Tulu speaking people from across the world.
Heggade, being the Honourary President of the Vishwa Tuluvere Parba said that Vishwa Tuluvere Parbha will be held at the premises of Sahyadri Engineering College, Adyar on December 12, 13 and 14. Cultural and literary programmes along with exhibition, competitions and entertainment related to Tulunadu culture will be held.
As a part of convention, ‘Atil Aragane,’ an expo on Tulunadu cuisine will be organized. He urged the cooperation of Tulu organizations, various government departments, university and educational institutions for the success of Vishwa Tulu Sammelana.
MLC Ivan D’souza said that a request will be made to the Chief Minister to take a council of ministers from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to Delhi to discuss on inclusion of tulu language in the 8th schedule of Indian Constitution.
DK district in-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai unveiled the Vishwa Tuluvere Parba logo, designed by artist John Chandran.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Janaki M Brahmavar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Akhila Bharatha Tulu okkoota President Dharmapala Devadiga, Vishwa Tuluvere Parba General Secretary Nitte Shashidhar Shetty and others were present.
Later, a Memorandum was submitted to government through Ramanath Rai to include separate code number to Tulu language in the column number 11 of the state social and educational survey.
Dr Heggade also released website www.vishwatuluparbha.in designed by the team of students from Srinivas Engineering College, Mukka.
