Vitla : After a PU student was injured following union elections on Saturday, the Vitla police registered a case against the incident at Vitla on June 27.

According to the police, II PU student Yogish was elected general secretary. Yogish and his friends came out of the campus and started celebration. Another group objected to this and there was a heated exchange of words. One among the celebrating group was reportedly hit by a stone. He filed a complaint with the police.

Bantwal circle inspector Beliappa, sub inspector from Bantwal rural police station Rakshith A K and Vittal sub-inspector Prakash Devadiga visited the spot and brought the situation under control.
