Bantwal: Vittal Police SI Vidod Reddy and constable attacked a Milk and Newspaper agent in Salethur on Monday afternoon.
It is said, Vittal Police SI Vidod Reddy and constable entered the shop in the afternoon and pulled the worker Nawaz out of the shop and tried to attack him. When Batish requested the police not to attack the worker, the SI held his shirt collar and wounded his ear.
The complaint was lodged with Bantwal deputy superintendent of Police (DYSP) by Nab Milk Parlor owner, Shikhandar Batish from Salethur.
In the complaint, Batish explained that he had taken a license from the village panchayat in his brother’s name to sell milk products and newspapers. Though there is COVID-19 lockdown in the district, there is permission to keep the grocery shops open, they had kept the shop open.
Reacting to the complaint, Bantwal DYSP Valintine Dsouza said, “A complaint is filed from a Salethur Milk and Newspaper agent on the attack by Vitla Police SI. we will investigate this further and take necessary action.”
