Mangalore : Vittal Malekudiya, a post-graduate student of Mangalore University, is certainly a relieved lot after he was permitted by the Mangalore University to appear for his semester exams on May 21, Monday. Though a fast track court of Puttur, had on Saturday permitted Vittal to appear for the exams, the court had also sought the Vice Chancellor’s stance on the issue of whether he was eligible to write the exams.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor had written a letter to a Court in Belthangady stating that Vittal cannot write his exams as he was short of 75 per cent attendance. Incidentally, Vittal had 80 per cent attendance prior to him being arrested.
