Mangalore :  Vivek Raj, a student of Derik’s Chess School of Mangalore has bagged the first place in the national chess championship held at Kanpur  from October 15 to 20.  Vivek Raj  is a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Ekkur.

Vivekraj garnered seven points  and remained unbeaten in eight rounds. He has thus been qualified to take part in the national level inter-school chess championship 2012-13 under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India.
