Bengaluru :  Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka and newly appointed Vokkaliga Development Corporation chairman Mr Krishnappa met His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamji at Sri Adichunchanagiri Math, Vijayanagar and sought his blessings on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ashoka said that Sri Sri Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamji had earlier suggested Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to constitute Vokkaliga Development Corporation for the overall welfare of the Vokkaliga sub-sects. “The CM has already made a budgetary allocation of Rs 500 crore for the corporation. I also thanked CM for considering my request for making Bengaluru South MLA Mr M Krishnappa as the first chairman of the corporation”, Mr Ashoka said. Hassan MLA Mr Preetham J Gowda was also present.

Mr Ashoka distributed food and tool kits to the unorganised labourers who were severely hit by the recent Covid pandemic at Kadirenahalli circle in Padmanabhanagar assembly segment. Later, Mr Ashoka participated in the Ekadashi programme at Muneshwara temple.
BJP leaders Mr L Srinivas, Mr Kabbalu Umesh and Mr H Suresh were present.
