Mangalore : In the last few weeks, Fire accidents have increased in Mangalore, whether in shops, garages or on roads. On Sunday, Nov 13 at noon a KSRTC bus caught fire in the Bejai Depot.

The Volvo bus fire was sparked from the blast of a battery. The brigade station located opposite KSRTC depot, rushed its men to douse the fire before it could spread, as many as buses were resting in the depot, with drivers off to a lunch. The arrival of fire brigade brought the drivers back, to help prevent the spreading out of fire, on a holiday at home. Earlier on Nov 9 a garage was  getting in Gorigudda and a major fire burst out 2 shops in Ullal causing losses upto Rs.50 lacs , on  Nov 12.

The present loss in KSRTC Volvo bus incident of arson, has not been ascertained.
