Udupi : Vinaykumar Sorake, AICC Secretary and former Udupi MP has expressed optimism that the voters would reject the BJP which was dividing the society on caste and community lines and would vote the Congress to power.
Addressing a party workers convention held at Kalyanpur Santhekatte on February 10, Sunday on behalf of the Brahmavar Block Congress Committee, Soree claimed the Congress was inevitable if at all peace and harmony has to be established.
He alleged that none of the budgetary proposals made during the chief ministership of DV Sadananda Gowda have been implemented.
The convention was earlier inaugurated by Udupi Block Congress President Pramod Madhwaraj. He said the situation at present was conducive for a Congress win. He also accused the BJP of failing to solve the problems of the people.
Rajesh Shetty Birthi, Brahmavar Block Congress President, presided over the function. Former union minister CM Ibrahim, KPCC Secretary MA Gafur, KPCC Member Bhujanga Shetty, Mahila Congress Vice President Sarala Kanchan, and others were present.
Several party workers from other parties joined the Congress on the occasion. A vehicle rally was also taken out on the main streets of the town.
