Mangaluru : In preparation for the Annual feast of Infant Jesus 2019 at the Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, which is scheduled to be held on January 14th and 15th 2019, a grand Votive Procession was flagged off by Rev Fr. Charles Seraao, OCD, Provincial, Karnataka Goa Province at Kaikamba –Bikarnakatte. Rev. Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues (Superior, St. Joseph’s Monastery), Rev Fr. PrakashD’Cunha (Shrine Director), Rev. Fr. LiguoryCrasta, along with the Carmelite brothers, Carmelites Secular, BallokJezuKutam, Infant Jesus Auto Drivers’ Welfare Associaton, friends, devotees and benefactors of the Infant Jesus Shrine began the procession at 5 pm and later reached Infant Jesus Shrine. The colourful offertory procession witnessed participation of many faithful, and comprised of offertory items to be used for the noon meals that will be served on all the novena days and on 15th, donated by various donors of the city.
Flag Hoisting.
The Annual Feast of Infant Jesus began at Carmel Hill today by hoisting the Flag. Prior to it a short stage programme was held, where the wellwishers and doners were honored. Rev. Fr. Melwyn Noronha, VG of Mangalore Diocese, Rev. Fr. Charles Serrao, Provincial of Carmelites, Rev. Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues, Superior of St. Josephs Monastery along BhaskarMoily, Mayor of Mangalore &SabithaMisquith, Corporatorwere present on stage. Rev Fr. PrakashD’Cunha, Shrine Director compered the Programme.
Rev. Fr. Melwyn Noronha Prayed for the success of the festivity at the Shrine and then along with honored guests hoisted the flag. The Feast of Infant Jesus will be celebrated by a nine day novena. Masses and Prayers will be celebrated all throughout the day during the novena days from 5th to 13th January 2019. The Solemn celebration will be on 14th on 15th January 2019.
