Mangaluru : The Dakshina Kannada Youth congress and Mangaluru South constituency Youth Congress unit jointly staged a protest,in front of the State Bank of India office on July 6, Thursday demanding the Union Government to waive farm loans in Nationalised banks.
Addressing the protesters, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said that, the Siddaramaiah led by Karnataka state government already waived the 50,000 loans in state. But the Central government not thinking waiving farmers loan in the Nationalised banks. Modi government behind industrialist and capitalist forces. Farmers are back bones of India, Central government must wave farmers loan, and we will not take rest until the loans of farmers in the nationalised banks are waived by the Central government, he demanded.
Corporator Praveen Chandra Alva, said, State government has implemented several farmer friendly programmes in state. Farmers suicides case increased after Demonetisation and Banks harassing farmers, he said
Mangaluru South constituency Youth Congress president Meryl Rego said, We demand that the central government should waive the loans of farmers immediately, until we will not stop our protest against union government, he alleged.
