Mangaluru : Mangaluru Institute of Fashion Technology (MIFT) organized a unique ‘Walk with confidence’ fashion show for visually impaired and differently-abled for the first time in Kadri Park on March 14 .
Former mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), Mahabala Marla was inaugurated he event. The programme was organized by MIFT College in association with Mandev Educational and Charitable Trust.
Children’s from Visually impaired of Roman and Catherine Lobo school for blind and and specially abled children of Saanidhya special school walked the ramp with confidence and illustrated the talent.
The specially-abled were dressed themselves as the various characters of Tulu folklore, Koti Chennayya, Pili vesha (traditional tiger dance),
The director of MIFT M G Hegde said that,we should encourage the specially-abled children. They are not different, visually impaired have their inner eyes open even though their outer eyes are closed.
Princiapal of the college Chandralekha Gowda, chairman of the trust and former minister Nagaraj Shetty were present at the occasion.
