Mangalore: Jai Hind Swimming Club is organising a Swimming Competition for school children at Mangala Swimming Poll with the help of Aquatic club and Swimming Club of on May 1, Tuesday.

During Summer, children show a lot of interest in Swimming by joining clubs in Bangalore (Malleshwaram and city), Mumbai (Dadar) and Mangalore (stadium), besides other places.

66 events in 5 age-groups, Junior and Senior (8to 16) are conducted, with a separate group for toddlers under 2 years. About 150 participants from schools around the district participate in Mangalore Swimming pool. Freestyle, breast stroke, and butterfly style are in the competitions.

These events are taking place annually since 1992 in city’s only Swimming pool for public of international standard.
