New Delhi: The Delhi Police have requested citizens of the Capital city not to burst fire crackers after 10 pm in the night. In Karnataka there is a general order that after 11 pm no noises are allowed in public.
The Delhi Police on Thursday, issued a statement that fire crackers (atom bombs) generating fearful noises exceeding a level of 125 decibels are prohibited during Diwali celebrations. Human ears comfortably tolerate 80 decibels or less, they stated.
However, the Delhi Police allowed crackers which emit lights in the sky can be used even after 10 pm for 5 nights (from 05-11-2010).
The Supreme Court has banned sound crackers from (night) 10 pm to 6 am (morning).
The Police have asked people to take protective measures while wearing clothes to guard against inflammable materials.
