Bangalore: Thursday(December 22) is the ‘Do or Die’ day for CM who has resigned his MP post from Udupi-Chikkamagalour, to contest for MLC Seat from the lower house (MLA) voters.
The JD-S has taken a neutral stand under force of circumstances, while BJP has taken care to disallow “horse trading” by its 120 MLAs, by herding them in a resort in the city outskirts.
The 76-seat Congress is too weak to contest, but has set up a contest with an unknown MLA, like Ananda Gaddadevaramath from the north Karnataka.
It is a farce imposed by Dr. G. Parameshwara, whose wings are clipped by an 8-member committee, governing state Congress affairs.
The only person who could have made any radical difference, namely, B. Sriramulu, is will disposed to CM, now who is likely to have him as a minister in a fresh expansion next week.
The pressure on DVS Gowda to win the by-poll, cannot be now exaggerated, but it may appear as if he is so strong, that no MLA or any political leader can shake him or defeat him on December 22.
CM is going about the need to win quietly and without flourish. In the end, the Sonia Congress is in for one more insult.
