Water pipes burst in three areas increase water problem in city

Water pipes burst Mangalore : The city faced heavy water loss, due to the water pipe burst took place at Pumpwell, Simon Lane and Nagori on April 23 Monday.

According to the local residents, the water started leaking on the night of April 22 Sunday and as there was pressure in the pipe increased, the water surged out of the broken pipe to a distance of 20ft.

Water pipes burst The pipe at Pumpwell had started leaking on the night of April 22 Sunday. At around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, the pressure in the pipe increased, causing it to burst. The water gushed out of the broken pipe to a distance of 20ft, forcing vehicles to stop.

Reportedly, the Pumpwell pipe furnishes water from Thumbay vented dam to Bendoorwell tank. The pipes were made of wrought iron and are enclosed by cement.

Although the police arrived at the spot, surprisingly MCC executive engineer Nenge Gowda had not reached the spot.
