Mangaluru: The muslims have praised Sri VishweshaTheertha Swamiji for his programme on organizing an Ifthar Kotta in Sri Krishna Mutt on the eve of Ramzan.

Addressing the press meet, State Vice President of BJP Minorities Morcha , Rahim Uchil urged Sri Rama Sene (SRS) chief Pramod Muthalik and SRS activists to drop the protest against Pejawar Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji for hosting Iftar get-together for Muslims at Sri Krishna Math on the last day of Ramadan. Paryaya Swamiji has done a wonderful job to bring in peace and harmony and the act has brought him more praise amongst the Muslim community. He added saying that he too was lucky to be a part of the Ifthar koota held at the Sri Krishna Mutt on the eve of Ramzan.

He said, according to our (Muslim) tradition we cannot break our fast in a place where idols are kept as we do not believe in idol worship. So we did it outside the sanctorum and by no means we intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments. We know the rules of the Math and also have reverence to both religion’s traditions.

He further added saying there were neither objection nor protests when inter-faith programmes were held in mosques in the past and many Hindus too have the attended such programmes.
