Mangaluru: “We have to work hard to justify our selection in smart city project. Though we couldn’t succeed to be listed in first list, we have been selected in second list. I thank PM Modi and CM Siddaramaiah for this,” said Mangaluru North MLA Mohiudhin Bava.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday at his office in MCC, he said that importance will be given to provide 24X7 water to the people. For this a metering system will installed and recycling of waste water will be done. A food processing unit will be constructed at Baikampady. To minimize the power consumption solar grids will be installed.
“In three years of time period the city will get Rs 1000 crore aid from both state and central government. Under second phase of ADB project for the up gradation of drinking water and drainage system Rs 400 crore has been sanctioned,” he said.
He further said that MCC will also get Rs 400 crore under Amrith scheme and this will be used for the development of drainage system.
“For the development of the city Rs 1200 crore will be invested,” he added.
