Mangaluru: “The decision taken by the assembly over Cauvery dispute is a model for the entire nation. But the decision will be the contempt of the court and it will create a negative situation in the state,” said former union minister and Congress veteran leader Janardhana Poojary.
Speaking to the reporters at Kudroli temple on Saturday, he said that the base of the problem lies in the affidavit submitted by the government to the court. The government hadn’t taken the issue seriously and that has become a serious issue now.
“Is Fali Nariman is the only man who knows about Cauvery? Aren’t there any other engineers, experts and lawyers in Karnataka to argue the case in court? I am not saying this because I hate the CM, but CM has taken weak steps in this issue. I welcome the assembly’s decision, but it is a mad step,” he opined.
Further he said that all the MLA’s and MP’s should have resigned for this issue and that would have caused constitutional stymie in the state. Then the Central government must interfere in the matter and solve it.
“It is Prime Minister’s duty to rectify the issues between two states,” he added.
