Mangalore: The DK District unit of the Welfare  Party of India has decided to field its candidates  at  most of the wards in the ensuing elections to local administrative bodies.

Informing this to reporters here on February 19, Tuesday, Akbar Ali, State President of Welfare Party of India has said that he party would soon be announcing its list of candidates.

He said the Welfare Party of India was constituted to bring about the much needed change which the people want to see. He said it is committed to build a new India and also to lead the state in the right direction and also to solve the problems of the people.

He said the Welfare Party of India was floated in 2011 with the theme Towards Value Based Politics. The party, he said was of the firm belief that merely bringing any change of government would not solve the problems confronting the nation.W hat was needed was an  alternate political culture, he said adding the party also aims at having a politics free from crime and criminals.

Shabbeer Ahmed, State Working Committee Member, Sebastian K, State Minority Wing President, Oswald Mendonca, District General Secretary Zahid Hussain, District President, Srikanth Salian, District Vice President were present at the press meet.
