Mangalore : White Doves, a non government organization, will organize a show on Mother Theresa called “Jeevanth Santhin” (Living Saint), in honor of the 100th birth anniversary of Mother Theresa.
White Doves Founder President Corrine Rasquinha told reporters at a press meet held at the Press Club that “Jeevanth Santhin” is a Konkani play written and directed by the Mangalore-based playwright Arthur Rasquinha. Seventy men, women, and children from all the parishes in Mangalore will participate in this play.
This play, which is based on the life of Mother Theresa, will be staged in several parishes such as Shirva, Bantwal, Madanthyar, and Pakshikere on Feb 20, Feb 27, March 6, and March 13, according to the wish of the bishop of Mangalore Diocese.
White Doves, which was launched in 1995, focuses on providing aid to the abandoned, sick, destitute, and under privileged sections of society. Since they have accepted Mother Theresa as their role model, they run two homes for the homeless. This play will also raise funds for the 75 inmates of these homes.
Ms. Rasquinha has invited everybody to view this inspiring drama on Mother Theresa.
Vitus Rasquinha, the founder trustee of White Doves; Jerald Fernandes, the manager; and Arthur Rasquinha, the director of the play, were also present during the press conference.
