Mangalore: The wild buffalo which had caused some tense moments and anxiety at the Mangalore airport on May 31, made reappearance at the runway on the night of June 2, Saturday but was immediately chased away.

It is believed that the animal was entering the airport grounds from the nearby forest areas where trees are being cut recently. Reports also say that a suggestion made by the Forest Department to raise the height of the boundary wall of the airport has not been heeded to.

It is learnt, an intense search is on for the buffalo by the forest officials.
