Mangalore: Former union minister and Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari said that he will hold indefinite hunger strike, if Food Security Bill do not pass in Parliament within the next six months.
He was speaking at the press meet held at District Congress Office on Jul 6, Saturday. Poojary said that he is against the opposition made by the opposition parties against the Bill proposed by the Centre.
He also said that central government was interested in introducing the bill to provide nutritious food to the poor, but BJP has held it back stating it to be an election gimmick. This bill was a part of Congress manifesto of 2009 elections, hence implementing it will not be wrong.
