Suttur: Baba Ramdev, founder of Pathanjali Yogpeeth, has said that the mission of Pathanjali Ayurveda was to root out multinational products from India in 10 years. Speaking at the valedictory of Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Jatra Mahotsava at Suttur, Nanjangud taluk on Sunday, he said the East India Company which entered India for trade, ruled the country for hundreds of years. “Now, thousands of multinational companies have conquered the Indian market and together they have a turnover of more than Rs 50 lakh crore.
Their contribution for the development of country is zero. But, Pathanjali has been contributing its profit for social good and the company has turned out to be a tough competitor for the foreign firms,” he claimed.
Lamenting that people have neglected traditional medicines and had become addicted to allopathy medicines, Ramadev said that yoga helps in staying healthy. He also called upon the people to practice Jnanayoga, Karmayoga and Ashtanga yoga for a healthy living. Deep breathing will relieve lung problems, asthma, cancer and other diseases, he suggested.
Speaking on the occasion, JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy said that it was possible to waive farmers’ loans if the government cuts down its unnecessary expenditures. Cooperative banks have extended farm loans to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore, that from nationalised banks is Rs 29,000 crore. He said that measures should be taken to prevent farmers from falling into debt trap.
