Udupi : In a shocking incident, a woman who jumped into the well with her one year old child in a bid to commit suicide, survived while her husband who jumped into the well to save her drowned. Even the child has died.The incident took place at Tenkanidiyoor on September 28, Saturday.

The deceased is one year old Diksha and Chandrakanth (35). The woman Nagaratna (31) is said to be in critical state and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

The cause of the suicide attempt of the woman is not known. But there were some problems in the family, say sources.

Malpe police are investigating.
