Mangaluru: In an incident reported, a woman was rushed to Wenlock Hospital in the city after she was bitten by a snake; the surprising part was that the people, who accompanied her, brought the snake along.
Arathi (33) and her husband Dayananda Poojary from Navoor Kanapade in Bantwal are labourers. It is said that Arathi was making water hot for bath and when she picked a log of wood, she was bitten by a snake. Her husband and neighbours rushed to the spot on hearing her screams.
As they were unable to identify the snake, they locals caught it and put it in a plastic box. Arathi was then rushed to Bantwal Government Hospital, but since the hospital did not have adequate facilities to treat the bite, she was rushed to Wenlock Hospital. She is currently recovering at the Hospital.
