Puttur: A woman was cheated in Puttur by providing debit card password to an unknown person, who withdraw Rs 24899 from the woman’s account.

Mohini is the woman who got cheated. She is wife of Balakrishna Gowda, resident of Bellippady.

She received a call from unknown number who introduced himself as a bank officer and said that there is some technical fault in Mohini’s account and he needs debit card password to fix the problem. He was speaking in English and Hindi languages.

Mohini in her complaint letter stated that as he asked for the password she provided him the password of her debit card and using that password Rs 24899 has been withdrawn from her account.

Puttur town police have registered a case.
