Woman found strangulated at her residence at Kemmannu

ShakunthalaUdupi: In a shocking incident reported from Gundyam in Kemmannu on June 25, Monday, a housewife Shakunthala (40) wife of an NRI was found dead inside her newly constructed house.

The body of Shakuntala was found lying on the bedroom and at the outset it was clear that she was strangulated with a chudidar shawl.

The deceased was the wife of Ashok Poojari, an NRI and the couple has two daughters studying in SSLC and PUC.
Reports said Shakuntala had returned from Mumbai just on Monday and had been to the bank in the morning to check if the amount remitted by her husband had been credited to her account. The incident came to light when Shakuntala’s daughter returned home from school in the evening.

The house warming ceremony of the newly built house was held in April. The exact cause of the killing is not known. Malpe police are conducting investigations.
