Kasaragod: A mother killed her infant daughter by throwing the infant into a well. This heart-rending incident happened at Eriyal in the outskirts of the town on the evening of Wednesday, July 18th. The barbaric act was committed by Naseema from Eriyall Vellur.

On Wednesday, at around 3pm, Naseema reportedly threw her daughter Shamna, into the well of an individual living near her home. The locals, who got information of the incident, rescued the infant and rushed her to the hospital, but to no avail.

It is understood that Naseema was suffering from a form of mental disability and it is supposed that she committed the act in a disturbed mental state. A case has been registered at the town police here.
