Bangalore : A woman was murdered in broad daylight at Bagalagunte in Peenya police station limits on April 13, Saturday. The killed woman is Bharathi (48). She was stabbed to death on her neck and stomach. Her earrings were found missing.
According to eyewitnesses, the murder took place close by the residence of Bharathi near the Marammana Temple at Bagalakunte. At around 1.30 am a youth stabbed her with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.
According to the police, a dispute between the two over rent is said to be the cause of the mishap. It is learnt she had rented out a house to the youth for Rs 1500 and had taken an advance of Rs 6000. Sources said Bharathi had not returned the advance amount as demanded by the youth which might have culminated in the murder.
The husband of the deceased works in post office. Peenya police have registered a case and are on the look out for the youth.
