Kasaragod: Prathima a resident of Hosdurg near Kanhangad in Kerala, was robbed of 38 Sovereigns of gold jewels and cash while traveling from Mumbai’s suburb of Thane on the Mumbai- T’puram train service of Konkan Railway on Friday, April 27. The traveler also lost some cash amounting to Rs 8,000 from a plastic bag.
The woman was accompanied by her 15 year old son and a younger daughter. They boarded the Netravathi Express on April 26 at Mumbai. Prathima finished dinner and went to sleep in the train but woke up due to a thud near her seat.
To her utter shock, she found her bag ripped open and jewellery with cash went missing. She alerted Railway Protestation. Force near Mangalore and they found a paper with a drug scent near her seat, nothing more.
She might have been made unconscious by the drug, police suspected.
Prathima informed Mangalore police control room in Mangalore lodged a complaint with Railway police and went to her home town in distress with her 2 children.
